Eid-al-Fitr is the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal and it marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan during which Muslim fast & pray to be closer with God. The first day of Shawwal is set to be July 28th 2014. This date it may change in other islamic countries, just because of the moon sighting.
Eid ul-Fitr is a three day celebration. Muslims are commanded by the Qur’an to complete their fast on the last day of Ramadan and then recite the Takbir prayer all throughout the period of Eid.The fasting period observed Holy month of Ramadan hard proved metabolism. It’s also recommended not to exceed with the food in this period, specially in first days after Ramadan, to let the body accustoms again to the usual feeding.
Traditionally but not mandatory, three dates are eaten to break the fast in emulation of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad, who broke his fast in this manner. To eat dates also helps not to attack the food, after a whole day fasting, and it is something we suggest not only during the ramadan. It’s common use also to offer dates to friends and guests at the break of the fasting.
